Vidlo Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Vidlo (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a YouTube analytics and content planning application that helps users connect their YouTube accounts, view analytics, generate video ideas with AI, and draft scripts.

We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your data responsibly.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Profile information from your sign-in provider (e.g. Google)

YouTube Data

When you connect your YouTube account via Google OAuth, we may access:

  • Channel information
  • Video metadata (titles, views, engagement metrics)
  • Analytics data via YouTube APIs (where authorized)

We only access data you explicitly grant permission for.

Content You Create

  • Video ideas, feedback, and project metadata you save in Vidlo
  • Scripts and notes you write in the editor
  • Prompts and refinements you submit for AI generation

Authentication Data

We store OAuth access tokens and refresh tokens.

Important: All access tokens and refresh tokens are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption.

Billing Information

Paid subscriptions are processed by Stripe. We store subscription status, plan tier, and Stripe customer identifiers. We do not store full payment card numbers.

3. How We Use Data

  • Provide analytics and insights
  • Generate tailored video ideas and scripts with AI
  • Save your projects, ideas, and usage against plan limits
  • Process subscriptions and enforce billing
  • Make authenticated API requests to Google/YouTube
  • Improve app functionality and prevent abuse

We do not sell user data.

4. AI and Third-Party Processing

To provide AI features, we send relevant channel context, prompts, and content you submit to OpenAI (or similar providers) to generate ideas and scripts. Do not submit sensitive personal information you do not want processed for this purpose.

5. Data Security

  • Tokens are encrypted at rest
  • Data is stored securely
  • HTTPS is used for all communication
  • Access is restricted internally

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent data.

We share data only when necessary to operate the service:

  • With Google/YouTube APIs (when you connect a channel)
  • With OpenAI for AI generation features
  • With Stripe for billing
  • With Clerk for authentication
  • For legal compliance or to prevent abuse and security issues

7. User Rights

  • Disconnect their YouTube account
  • Request deletion of data
  • Revoke Google permissions via Google Account settings
  • Manage billing and cancel subscriptions

8. Data Retention

Data is retained only as long as necessary. When disconnected, data is deleted or anonymized within a reasonable timeframe unless legally required.

9. Third-Party Services

Vidlo uses Google APIs (YouTube Data API and OAuth), Clerk (authentication), Stripe (billing), OpenAI (AI generation), and Resend (contact email).

10. Children’s Privacy

Vidlo is not intended for users under 13.
